BJ Shea and KOMO top morning ratings

BJ Shea was number one in key adult demos and KOMO Radio was number one 6+ for mornings in Seattle's January PPM. Bob Rivers off the air has paid off big for KISW. KJR-FM needs him on soon, they held on to none of their Christmas numbers, while WARM held on but is fading fast in the last couple of weeks. Healthy jumps for KPLZ and KBKS. KIRO-FM and AM did well with Seahawks in the playoffs. Click went commercial free and apparently audience free. They did better in Smooth Jazz.

PPM is proving that changing format may be tougher than ever before. KJR-FM looks worse than it did a year ago. KVI hasn't moved at all. CLICK ran commericials on TV and went commercial free on the air and looks worse than Smooth Jazz did at this time last year, a lot worse. Movin went CHR and KBKS looks stronger than ever. KMTT launched their new lineup and ratings went even lower.

One does wonder what will happen when Bob Rivers returns? Will KJR-FM go Classic Rock and take on KZOK and KISW. Will Bob be able to regain his number one rating's status with men or can BJ hold on? Most change around here in some time.

Yes BJ certainly did reap the rewards of Rivers being gone but I have trouble thinking that Bob won't climb back to the top spot within a short time, he has done it before no reason to think he wouldn't do it again and KJR is banking on that at this point I would think.

You have to also think KMTT's decision just over a year ago to let Marty Riemer go in the morning hurt them much more than they anticipated it would, and bringing him back afternoons will never pay off for them until they allow him to talk and do the show he is comfortable doing, not to mention it gives people an excuse to tune to KISW for the Men's Room...
