BJ Shea replaces Stern

If a third rate hack like BJ is gonna be Stern's replacement...it's time to get Opie & Anthony on XM Satellite radio.

Do we have any other evidence maybe? Anyone check those paper bags for laden prints? (I saw them touching those bags a few times.)

They are a likely bunch demographically for KISW. But I'll wait until forensics reports back...

I say let BJ go to the big boy time slot, the majority of his listeners will not even be UP yet, so they will maybe get to hear the last 45 minutes of his show. That will help the ratings alot!

Keep up the hate people. Seems to me the people on here that keep wishing for BJ'S demise are the third rate hacks. I don't hear any of you with a radio show.
What a bunch of jealous posers, like you teetaw.
Hey gimmiefuel, I sense a little sarcasm there. I posted those links to ruffle feathers here. Just to piss off the likes of Larry friggin W.

I don't know if I believe this but if it is true, it's a great loss for The Buzz. Also, I wonder if the show will turn into the Double R and Top Shelf Experience if he does leave The Buzz, I don't know if I could stand Double R and Top Shelf every day. I might have to throw my radio out the window after a couple of weeks if that's what happens

BJ is a Talent and works hard.He deserves the gig.
I guess the question is what kind of show will he do?Will KISW try to reclaim a music position in the morning or will BJ talk for four hours? I know he is capable of ranting for four hours but talking and ranting are different.
Should be interesting to see if he can hold on or grow Howards numbers.I think Stern only had a solid #1 25-54 win for the fist time in this market last book.Other than that it's been Rivers,Ichabod,T Man and KIRO.Can BJ hold on to the 25-54? Can he bring any women under the tent? After years of doing "radio for guys" it will be a test to see if he can branch out.Good luck BJ.I know you play a jerk on the radio but something tells me your actually a half decent guy in real life. You deserve this chance !

Whatever happened to that "Larry W" poser anyway?

Anyway, I'm hoping for better things for BJ Shea. I'm sick of all these sudden disappearances off the air on 100.7 for whatever reason.....

From my understanding, BJ's worked in almost every format during his 20 year career. i have a feeling Double R & Toppy will be joining him at "The Rock". So the question is who will be doing the 10:00AM to 3:00PM shift on The Buzz?<P ID="signature">______________

My guess would be unless the plug in some syndicated filler that the Vocal Minority makes a good fit, with the current morning show and transition to Leykis and gives that show an opportunity to stand on it's own two feet weekdays.

What?

For most of his "twenty year career" he was a sidekick on the top-rated morning show in Rochester NY, then eventually got PM drive at that station. And now KQBZ.

That's TWO formats. Quite a far cry from "almost every format".

I'm amazed that KQBZ is so local. At this point, though, Infinity might as well syndicate the Triplets on KLSX/KSCF in-house and make it available to the Buzz, since there aren't any national midday hot talk shows.

BJ Shea is a shameless unoriginal Xerox copy of Tom Leykis. If the ponderous duplication of a nationally syndicated talk show host's act in the local Seattle market is the road to success...well I guess BJ Shea is a star.

I see a difference between BJ and Tom. BJ doesn't talk non-stop about T&A, he also talks openly about other things of relevance to his listeners whereas Tom Leykis usually loses me in the second hour. It isn't all one topic.

I don't completely disagree, but all this talk that every hot talker is a "Leykis clone" is getting old. The format is so much of a niche phenomenon and there aren't many hosts involved. Of course they mostly sound alike. But there are about 196 people trying to sound like Rush Limbaugh in news/talk, and nobody harps on that. In every city in America, you can find several stations doing wall-to-wall news/talk, all of which is the same. In Phoenix, we have 8 stations ripping each other off with political talk under your assumption.
