"Black And Yellow" not being played much this week

It's pretty interesting to notice the number of spins for Wiz Khalifa - Black And Yellow decreased 30% on 92.3 Now this week as compared to last week. I noticed they replaced it with Chunky's version. Coincidentally, 96.1 Kiss FM in Pittsburgh increased the spins of this song by 25%.

Black and Yellow refers to the Pittsburgh Steelers colors, and the Jets are playing the Steelers in the AFC Championship game this Sunday. A lot of Jets fans would refuse to listen to that song at least for this week, so they would tune out whenever it's played. And of course, the Steelers fans would want to listen to it more.

I noticed a similar effect with Jay-Z & Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind with the Philly stations during the 2009 World Series (Phillies vs Yankees).

I was about to say, Nick - did you hear Chunky's producer being raked over the coals by Boomer and Carton earlier this week because his Jets song was a "rip off" of a Steelers song? I believe it was Tuesday... They played it, then Boomer said he was being pounded with calls and emails from listeners saying how familiar the song sounded.

At least Chunky's producer ("The Man On The Couch"?) had the guts to call in.

FYI it refers to PITTSBURGH as a city and ALL their teams, not just the Steelers. As for Chunky's song, it's not great. The least he could have done was write GREEN AND WHITE in place of Black and Yellow. It's not well written.
