Black Friday at Cox

Bill DeFelice said:
Perhaps a result of The Fox moving studios up to the Milford complex?

And one-time advertisers continuing to either go out of business or go into survival mode and cut way back on advertising, focusing on media other than radio.

Wouldn't this be "red" friday, as red indicates a negative versus black indicating a positive?

I have had the Pleasure of working with Bushman, Zako, John Perry, the entire coast crew before the switch. I am saddened by this as I have Just Graduated college. Nothing but Rejection letters or no response everywhere I apply The Job I had in VT was given a "hey were hiring an old DJ back" and I find myself without a Job and severe Debt by Moving my life up to Vermont for 2 months. I continue to Keep my show alive on XCI and am staying in CT for now just for that. at least I know Okemo has hired me back full time this year so now the question remains how long do I keep my radio show alive that I avery passionate about and as many of you know have gotten a nice following of listers keeping it going when its over its over... so I keep it going.

Matt Zako & Mike Prodoti

They've been @The Fox & PLR, respectively, for a decade.

Let's look @who was @PLR within the past five years or so:

Smith & Barber
Pam Landry
Prodoti
Jack Allen
Chris Cody
Glenn w/2 N's

Instead of Cox stepping up & spending some $ on talent, they hire some kid name Phil Antonelli.

Not really a show biz name.

Can't he change it?

Sounds like he's part-owner of the Lapatino/Antonelli Law Firm.

His claim to fame is: "I got into Radio because I pretty much failed at everything else, mostly because I was talking too much".

That's all we need @PLR - more talk.

Less talk, more rock!

More rock, less talk!

Shut up & rock!

If there's any market in America where you could keep your Italian surname and have a radio career, it's got to be New Haven.

Marit Price of Star99.9, Matt Zako of 95.9 the fox, and Mike Prodoti of 99.1WPLR were all let go Friday.
in a few years, what's left of these stations will just be automated jukeboxes with maybe a morning guy or gal and drive time guy/gal.

Or they can plug in Bubba - no, nevermind, his own show just recently shed several affiliates... Still think he'd be a good fit on WBAB...
