The Budget Ax has swung at Black Crow...longtime WNDB News Director MARK WILLIAMS is out! The WNDB Morning Show with DOUG KOSAREK has been axed. Does not look like any of the FM's in Daytona have been effected (yet) unless you figure in that WILLIAMS also did news for WHOG,WKRO & WVYB as well as WNDB ("The NEWS" Station) which btw-now has NO LOCAL NEWS DEPARTMENT.(Yeah!That makes sense!) :-\

It does appear some missing jocks from the Black Crow Webpages in other markets but can't confirm.

WHHM in Jackson,TN is down to ONE local Jock!!! More to come?
 
Ain't radio just great? The axe falls from Seattle to Key West and all we can do is complain. C'mon folks, it is what it is. The only thing that drives radio is keeping advertisers on the air for as long as possible and offering a compelling reason to stay.

I hear the Kohls's on ISB is hiring....... :-[
 
To me, it's a shame to see Mr. Williams shown the door at Black Crow. He's a credit to the station... maybe they're looking for someone to do the same job for $8.50 an hour... I can't see them getting out of the news business. I have a lot of respect for his body of work having lived in the listening area for many years.

It's OK to complain, isn't it... I don't know him personally, but as a fan of radio - a nother signpost along the highway of broadcasting.
 
Warning to anyone who works hard and has a career. You could be a liability. That's right, not an asset.
You see all those raises for a job well done, puts you on the paid out radar screen! Radio today want's average! And as for those music formats at Black Crow, look out!!! Today more music and less talk is better than more stupid DJ chatter! More changes are coming. Wake me when it's over!
 
Rumor has it that Imus in the Morning will be replaced by Doug Kosarek at WELE-AM 1380 starting Monday morning 04/06/09. Does anyone know anything about where Mr. News is going?

Yes, it is absolutely true that the former WNDB morning show will replace Don Imus on WELE-AM 1380... Imus will move to evenings... We would like "Mr. News" Mark Williams to come over, as well, and put together a news department for WELE... This should be a very good coup for WELE, so I invite everyone to listen beginning at 6AM tomorrow morning (4-6) on WELE-AM 1380 Daytona Beach...

Way to go Mark! It is good to see someone being as local as possible! I will try and listen toimorrow...I am in Western Volusia County and if the GE Super-Radio is working like it usually is I will have no problem ;D

This market needs some COMPETITION...for far too long it's been a one man band! When you have real agressive competitors you begin to think..."Do I really want my morning guy on my competitor"?
 
I'm glad to hear that Mark has found another job at WELE. I gained much respect for him after watching the Caylee Anthony Incident on Nancy Grace (HLN) where he was frequently interviewed. I'll have to tune in next week when I'm down there at Daytona Beach.

I might of missed something....but I thought we were talking about DOUG KOSAREK of Wake Up Daytona...I might be wrong but I don't believe this package includes Mr.Mark Williams.
