"Black Monday" At KHTK

Grant Napear opened today's edition of Sportsline by mentioning that Mike Lamb and KHTK's program director were among those fired at the station today. He referred to the situation as "Black Monday."

Mike Lamb and PD Mark Evans are good people. I wish them well. That station has a bad market manager and sales staff
who can't keep up with talk talent salaries...plus I'm sure Lamb's salary is going to Don Geronamo to keep him happy.
It used to be a good station...they have sucked it dry and hopefully someone will buy the station and cluster before it's too late.

Doni G. had mentioned a few weeks ago that every time he's been at the station (when he was still doing three weeks in Ocean City and one week in Sacramento) he's been introduced to a new sales manager. Yes, it may have been a bit...

Just remember, with CBS radio, anybody who makes respectable money has a huge target on their back! Thats the way the company works these days. All my friends who work for CBS on air and in programming are extremely paranoid as the year comes to an end. Trust me, Mark Evans did nothing wrong in the company except win win win for the company.

RGM

It's a great time to be in radio these days!

I worked for that cluster in the late part of the '90's. Mark was my boss. A real good guy and a consumate professional, very good at what he does.
