Wow, Freddie. Your true nature is really showing in this thread. Call your comments irony if you want, but we all know it's your bigoted view of conservatives oozing out again. Yours are some of the most bigoted, hateful remarks I've ever read on a board like this. Certainly not very "progressive," eh?!!
I never complained to be a progressive.
That makes no sense. What was that supposed to mean?
However, considering all the shots taken at liberals and progressives on this board, I was curious to see how y'all would respond to your own medicine. Seems like you dish it but can't take it.
And I don't consider y'all to "conservatives." Barry Goldwater was a conservative. So is William F. Buckley. The right wing talk hosts and the people who agree with them here are fasicsts.
Your postings are really bizarre, Fred. Like Forrest Gump's proverbial box of chocolates, I never know what to expect when you post.
I more or less agree with what you said above. But you go too far. Beck, O'Reilly, and Ingraham definitely fit the description of religious right extremists with fascist tendencies. Limbaugh and Savage are less obsessive and more intelligent, with their own endearing idiosyncrasies, but still a bit extreme. (No worse than the AAR hatemongers, however.) I don't know how to classify the Salem folks.... I don't listen to them that often.
Sorry but your positions and actions fit the defintion exactly. Nationalism. Obsessive patriotism, coupled with military conquest. Deference to government authority. Insistance on conformity. Ethnic exclusion. Abandonment of measures to safe guard individual civil liberties. Placing authority and trust in one central leader.
I have no respect for parrots who are unwilling to think for themselves and only repeat what they hear.
But how do you justify classifying any non-liberal as a fascist? That's bigotry, to say the least.
I don't trust the government any more than I trust you. I'm sure the government has the same proportion of stupid, dishonest, and self-serving people as the mainsteam media or this board. (Some people, of course, fit into more than one category.)
And why do you categorize anyone who wants to aggressively fight terrorism as a fascist?
Those assumptions make you look like the liberal counterpart of a mindless xenophobic jingoist.
Maybe when you say "your positions and actions fit the defintion exactly" you should state specifically to whom you are referring.
I find all of the accusations inaccurate and extremely offensive. And at least one of them sounds more like a description of you liberals, who are in favor of giving more powers to the government.
Nice try. You blew it after a few good, intelligent sentences.
Put in another quarter and try again, without the blanket name-calling, Fred.
