Black Thursday at Emmis Austin

Just a sign of a bad economy. Advertisers and customers are hanging on to their money. I heard they all were given very good separation payments.

Emmis had no understanding of the local feel for KLBJ-F, KGSR and 101X as soon as they walked in the door. Nor did they care to understand.

The numbers actually went up for KLBJ-FM when they became more library based. But then they demoted Johnny Walker to save a few bucks when the bottom line was hardly suffering. First big mistake.

Emmis acts like every conglomerate who paid a little too much for their properties: "If we save money by cutting jobs, everything will be solved." Then their stock prices go down...
