Blackout is that electronic rock?

Thats what I thought when i first heard it.. Electronic POP/Rock.... Not really Pure Rock.

I really don't see anything "rock" about this song

To me, "electronic rock" would be Neon Trees, Foster The People, MGMT, etc.

I'd call Breathe Carolina and Cobra Starship "Alternative Dance"

I don't know what to call this song- is it electronic rock or instrumental EDM? Whatever it is, its not good. It sullies the good name of electronic rock bands like Foster the People and MGMT.

I just don't see the comparison to Foster The People or MGMT - to me, Breathe Carolina is dance through and through (just a little more intellectual than Kesha, Britney, etc.)

For the record, I wasn't comparing them to FTP or MGMT, but I can see why people are making that comparision.

What's not intellectual about lyrics like "go insane, go insane, throw some glitter, make it rain on 'em"?

While Electronic Rock may not be the right label, I really don't think I'd classify them as dance. Not all their songs are dance and some of them have some pretty hard rock (screaming choruses, etc.) overtones. I think they're probably most comparable to Shiny Toy Guns. Kind of electronic pop/rock.

Their sound is mostly synth-based. VERY pop. Big french influence too (justice, daft punk). And a lot like Cobra Starship.
