Blaze 103.9 Powerhouse

Extremely heard in the Ocean Twp area as if the station is from here. Did those guys increase their power or is it possible for pirates to also encounter tropo?

Yes, tropo can enhance pirate stations if they have enough power. I heard Newark's 87.9 in Atlantic City. I also picked up an eastern Long Island pirate in Belmar. Tropo ducts don't know whether radio waves are licensed or not, it just enhances all radio waves.

But since pirate stations can move their transmitter any time, they could have moved to Ocean county.

They wouldn't last long in OC, look what happened with WZVU 104.7. I can see them last longer in Asbury, unless WYGG complains.

Looks like they increased their power. Im picking them up clear as if they are here. Wonder what WFAS in Westchester would do about this Blaze 103.9.

Does WFAS-FM even make it that far south?.....I have only been able to get them listenable until about Exit 129 on the GSP which is not bad for a Class A coming from Westchester.....Usually south of the Raritan River, 103.9 is nothing but static with a mix of stations like WRCN & WPPZ.....During tropo last year I got WRCN clear as a bell from about Exit 63 north to Exit 117.

Rarely would you hear WFAS come south of the raritan, but now, I hear this blaze caribbean more than ever. Same goes for 87.9.
