BLAZE JOCKS

Name being heard: Rick Rodham, Dave Ross, E. Curtiss....

I have a friend...that can't be true he's a lawyer..anyway, have a so called friend tell me that the Blaze will stay jockless...sounds painful.

I think the station is better off without jocks. I am getting sick and tired of all the interuptions that jocks make before and after songs are played, like other stations do.

E Curtis isn’t ditching his current gig, at least not for the foreseeable future, but Roddam will almost certainly file an application.

I haven’t heard anything about Dave Ross, but I think he’d resurface at KRZR before trying to get on with anyone new.

And I’m a lot less worried about DJs than who lands in the big office. This thing isn’t going to live or die on who reads the liner cards, the fate of the station rests in the hands of whoever gets the PD slot…

And on this note: Do you know who else liked “Jukebox” stations? Adolph Hitler.

It’s not interruptions; its content & entertainment. You know, that whole “serving the public interest” thing? The very thing that is overlooked by greedy corporate clowns who devalue the entire industry by eliminating and undermining its most important element: human contact.

I heard Nick Ryan is applying for both morning show and PD. He would be great. The ratings in the Woodward Park area would just skyrocket.

So now the roster is complete with two "has beens" in Carla and Lipp and two "never were's" in Roddam and Winford. The Blaze passed up an opportunity to do better. The Fox will rock on and roll over them. Hope they brush up on their spanish, this will be a short lived experiment.

Sounds like you have a personal problem, so you didnt get hired!!! Get over it Man. The Blaze Rocks IMO, I think Lipp Roddam bring a great morning Show, it is nice to have a local morning show again, And I think Carla is also good.

So whatever your beef is, take it somewhere else, the fox is a good station to, enjoy!!!

No beef, not personal, just disappointed in the decision to hire retreads. How do they ever expect to compete with who they're putting behind the mic? The Blaze isn't a new and fresh sound, it's the same old thing, different frequency. They passed up a great opportunity to make some noise in town. There's no buzz about the station.

They have only had jocks for two weeks, two weeks. I hate when people judge something that is new, kick back give them a chance to get it in gear. Hell, I dont even see Billboards promoting the station they are just getting started, if you listen, they only have like 4 commercials, they have no money yet.

Again it is my opinion, and I value yours also. But if I were to be judged on two weeks, something would be wrong, lets give them a couple books, then we can see.

BTW Retreads last alot longer than some of these china mades, ;)

if they're waiting to make money before they invest in billboards or anything else then they've already lost. that's not how you launch a station

Sorry your right, you know it all, sorry I was wrong, I never ran a Radio station, MY BAD!!!!

Everything starts at the top. So before we throw jocks under the bus, remember that they're there to execute someone else's strategy.

As another poster suggests, give 'em another couple of weeks to breathe, take some notes and make the proper changes when necessary.

Every great station is molded, not cut-and-pasted.

I could be wrong, but it looks to me like Carlota will be beaming her show in from their sister station in Vegas, KOMP (market 33). Hmmm, market 33/market 66, syndicated...

Who's the has been Smelly?
