For months now, Jean Cain has crossed Beacon Street and entered the Public Garden to visit a crabapple tree and a small plaque her family had installed in memory of her husband, the late radio legend, Jess Cain.
Today, Jean Cain said she is devastated after learning the plaque is gone, apparently stolen within the past two days by a thief who took the time to fill in the hole, and cover it all with mulch.
