Blitz Sinking

NABCO has really been hurting, at least in 6+ share. Any idea why WRKZ the Blitz is falling back to the low shares it had in the first two months NABCO started subscribing again? It had a 3.1 share in March and April 2022, and a 3.3 in May 2022. But lately, after a climb to as high as 6.3, it's been sliding back down and is back to 3.1 in September. It's by far the market's lowest-rated big signal.

Meanwhile, NABCO's Country 103.9 seems to be going nowhere, at a 1.0.

On the flip side, I wonder what's driving WXMG Magic 95.5's rise? At 7.1 it's tied for fourth in the market despite so-so coverage over much of Franklin County. I'd suggest it might be an outlier, but in August had already jumped from 3.7 to 6.1, and the increase seems to be driven more by cume rather than TSL.

Correction (too late to edit): Blitz is down to 3.3 in September, not 3.1. Doesn't change the gist of any of my comments.

Yes, the Blutz seems to have hit a tough patch in the ratings. I’m not a regular listener. Anyone who does, any discernible changes that may have an impact?

Also 103.9 doesn’t seem to be getting a Woody bounce. In fact, the opposite. Hopefully he has what I call “hip pocket clients”; advertisers so loyal that they just want associated with him.

As a listener of Magic the music is the same as always. So I don't know what caused the bump. Also, I know one tower is a rental and the other is owned by the company, but I would love to see Magic move to 102.5, and flip 95.5 to Regional Mexican. 95.5 all but completely disappears when you're by the channel 10 towers, and, on my radio anyway, 102.5 holds it's own. It stays very much listenable. It's just sad that a station with ratings like that is having such spotty coverage.

Rock is dead, and has been. Anything new isn't worth listening to. They need to put country on 99.7 and classic country on 103.9.

Won't happen - Word is Radio One might put the "La Mega" format on 106.3, or 107.1 possibly here in Columbus, OH. Not sure if they will keep the leased 102.5 Spanish "La Grande" but I don't see Magic moving off 95.5 (honestly with its current ratings at 95.5 that's the best that format I believe has done on any of the signals it's been on here in Columbus and probably some of the highest ratings for 95.5 even going back to the country days despite its' rim shot signal.

Almost all the "rim" signals suffer intermod around the WBNS TV Tower in Columbus. Between the RF from the TV stations that tower is also home to a majority of the full power FM's in Columbus.

Rock struggles in a lot of places - Honestly putting Country 103.9 over on 99.7 with the talent it has would give it a boost to go against WCOL for sure. 103.9's a class A and while it does cover Columbus well from it's west side stick it's no match in signal for iHeart's 92.3 WCOL-FM.

103.9 as Classic Country would complement 99.7 if they went that route - they could easily run the syndicated/localized "Hank" format there which would require little work to put on air.

I've been saying for years that Columbus would benefit from a setup like Lexington, Kentucky has with 98.1 The Bull and 98.1 The Bull Icons on 98.5. They complement each other nicely. One owner raking in a lot of country music fans.

Even Hank would be good. 103.9 covers areas West of Columbus quite well where there is a void in Classic Country music on the radio.
