Blizzard of 2010 Coverage

Maybe it's just me, but I think all 3 major networks (WBZ, WCVB, WHDH) have gone overboard with coverage. Last night, both The Sound of Music on ABC and Sunday Night Football on NBC were pre-empted, and this morning, it would appear that WBZ stuck with local coverage until about 2:00. Is it really THAT big a deal? I also wonder how WMUR handled it. I'm guessing they did the same thing WCVB did, but not positive. Did anyone else notice what WMUR did?
 
There was no Sunday Night Football anywhere. The storm pre-empted the game. It will be played tomorrow night.
 
these events affect a LOT of people. At least Ch 7 Bos was scrolling cancellations during regular Sun afternoon while Ch 10 Providence did not.
 
I, for one, appreciated the wall to wall coverage, particularly last night on WCVB-TV. It kept me connected to what was happening. I thought they all did a pretty good job (I channel hopped a few times).

Last night was overkill. Today, not so much. The coastal flooding was quite major. WBZ and WHDH were on from 4:30 AM-1:30 PM and then again from 4:00 PM-6:30 PM. WCVB from 4:00 AM-1:00 PM and then again from 4:00 PM-6:30 PM.
 
WFSB-TV (CBS) channel 3 of Hartford went overboard this morning like they always do. They even named this Nor'Easter Winter Storm Adrianne. I got 8-some inches of powder snow here in New Britain, CT. The wind was absolutely ridiculous last night and this morning. It was still gusting some at 6:30 PM tonight. Bradley Airport (Windsor Locks, CT) had a peak wind gust of 56 mph, with western CT and the shoreline fairing worse.
 
I did not even fire up the ole tube this time.I monitored the radio on WCBS news 880 last night and all day today.The wind was real bad ,last night about 7.30 the electricity went out for about a minute and came back on which it stayed on .I was lucky with that.
 
Yes, extreme overkill. The Boston stations didn't need to have mutiple reporters outside telling me it was snowing really hard and very windy...I saw that from my living room window. Lucky that PBS was able to broadcast.
 
yes i agree overkill then they re-air the preempted stuff at 3inthe morning really??? and ch 10 is a disgrace no mention of the storm except for the news and did anyone catch the noon news tech glitches all over the place. not sure about 6 and 12!!
 
Well here in Providence/New Bedford, all 3 stations would have been good for those that don't like overkill. Only 10 went a full hour at 11. Other than that, it was just hourly updates and the regular newscasts with storm coverage dominating. Depending on what you would rather see during a storm, opinions could go either way. Overall, I tought their coverage was all right, nothing special though.
