I'm not sure how some might categorize Blondie on this board but to me they are definitely pioneers of dance music.Last night they were inducted into the rock hall of fame not without having a lil drama onstage. But it is the rock hall of fame afterall :)

Cherry Vanilla

I Always liked her rival from the old "Max's Kansas City" days,Cherry Vanilla(grrr! rip her to shreds; Miss groupie Supreme) much better; I got Jurgen and Bryan Cronin to release "Fone Sex(Work this P***y)" by Cherry Vanilla and Man Parrish on Radikal in the early 90s; then my customer in the Record Connection, Joe Magic, heard the record, boasted he could do better, and came up with the remix, "Techno sex".which wound up being a 'bed' for Z100's "OutQ-Club calandar" nite time spots; It also started Joe Magic's remix career, who went on to another "Max's" veteran, Madonna, etc.

LOL, I have the 12" for "Techno Sex" sitting in one of my crates. For some odd reason, that song title pops into my head every once in a while. I never thought I'd be reading about it on a message board 13 years or so after I bought it. :)

> great stuff, ain't it?....and Cherry and Mannie are STILL waiting to see statements/accountings(the track was included on the RADIKAL TECHNO #4, but typical biz stuff following, so the fab followup, 'Sex Slave",never saw the light of day...YET!!
by the way, the 'vocal' was taken from an actual, paid for 'phone sex' call,Cherry worked with Gloria Leonard at HIGH SOCIETY Magazine at the birth of the 'phone sex' phenomena,on the original "Fone Sex' 12",there's the a capella(which Joe Magic used for "Techno sex"right off the record),where you can actually hear the paying customer 'gentleman' on the other end of the phone line; hilarious.
A year or so later, I hooked up one of my other Max's buddies Jayne(the former Wayne) County with a brilliant rising talent named Peter Presta, who did the still hot "Put Out or Get Out" house re mixes on Jayne's "F**k Off" ,pink vinyl, for Royalty Records...that's the mystery of what makes history!
