Blood Bath at CBS News?

I'm hearing unconfirmed rumors that Katie
has already tendered her resignation as
CBS's main anchor. Any confirmation?

I think that if that were to really happen, the behind the scenes buzz would make this a big story, even without an official announcement. That's what happened when she signed with CBS.

As for the "weathergirl" on Channel 46, Atlanta has
a long history of them; does anyone recall Eleanor
Knight, Linda Faye Carson, or Gail Janus--all of whom
worked at Channel 11 at one time or another when that
station was screaming for anyone to watch.

I'm wondering if this could be the same Linda Carson who did weather on L.A. TV (Fox 11 and/or KCBS 2) in the 80s. She was married to longtime NFL assistant coach Bud Carson.

I remember Linda when she worked at KDKA-2 in the mid-70s doing, at various times, weekend sports and weather. I know her hubby Bud was a Steelers assistant coach at that time.

It is indeed the same Linda Faye Carson. In
addition to the weather she did "Dialing For
Dollars" on "Linda's Prize Movie" weekday mornings
in 1971 and '72. After she left Channel 11 the
movies were moved to 3:30 PM, Don Barber (formerly
a talk-show host at WAGA) took over the "Dialing
For Dollars" segments, and the title was shortened
to "Prize Movie."

Which is why we have who we have in the White House now. I won't get into an argument in this thread, but we would not be having the problems our country is having now if people would listen to the Dan Rather's and the Keith Olbermann's and the Chris Matthew's of the world.

Indeed. If we would just let liars like Rather run the news and believe every word they say, there's no telling what we could accomplish as a nation.

Olbermann has degenerated into a crazed, American-hating bigot. I seriously believe he has major problems inside his head. I would not want my children anywhere near him--his volatility is off the charts.

You obviously don't have the ability to detect sarcasm when you see it. Or perhaps you were comparing the well-spoken and literate Olbermann with the blubbering, slobbering bombast of Flush Fatburger?

I think my kids would like a excitable ex-sports guy far better than a bigoted blowhard druggie. But you know best for your kids.

Olbermann was sarcastic and occasionally witty in his SportsCenter days. Now he seems to believe he is the savior of the world and that nobody must ever question what he says. Honestly, I believe he is capable of doing physical harm to the people about whom he obsessively rants every night.
