Bloomberg 960 ending October 1

I have not seen any announcement of which station(s) will carry the games, although Vince Cotroneo has announced he will not be moving with the team to Sacramento (much less Las Vegas, down the road).

As far as I know, since 2020 the agreement between iHeart and the A's has been on a year-by-year basis, so anything is possible.
They might go back to streaming only like before 2020…. As far as the bloomberg channel is it a possibility they could flip it to be a black information channel affiliate possibly?

Well, iHeart has taken AMs in other markets to that, so I presume it would be considered among any other options that they see.

FYI, BIN is already on 910 KKSF.

Ok do you think they might want a radio affilliate the next few years while they are in California? ..... Nobody is talking about a long term affiliate.

That’s my fault, I thought it was happening sooner — I hate sports, so I just kinda assumed the process wasn’t so long drawn.

The point I was thinking of is why couldn't they flip kksf to conservative talk for the election season as it has a much stronger signal than knew and flip knew to the black info channel.

It would have to be done about two months from yesterday to have any impact. There are only 34 days to go before the election.

iHeart doesn't move that quickly.

Good point. Im just curious have the ratings and share for knew gone up much in that market towards the end of the A"s season with it being their final year in Oakland..

Without having the actual data with an Arbitron subscription, we can't break out the actual says and hours of the broadcasts vs. the effect of the move on sports talk segments where there was discussion of the move.

It's entirely possible that there was lower listening to the games, while the talk shows benefited from the controversy.

Radio forgot what made it popular in the first place insanity plays garbage but they ignore am they ignore good music and they don’t wanna talk about the right stuff on the radio how about that?

960 is a good one for music that will flow in the cash the second it just remembers where it got its going like Tomas said!! One half of it…. KABL……the other half? Good clean jokes….

Perhaps KHTK-AM which is their Sacramento affiliate will become the "flagship" station. I don't think any bay area station would carry them unless the A's paid for the time, which being how cheap they are, I don't see happening.

The format seems to be IHeart Sports and more as KOSF 103.7 has already switched to that format on HD-2 and identifies as KNEW 960.

We're talking about a couple of radio stations here, not a food truck.

The interest in the team in the Bay Area likely will be diminished anyway. It had a hard enough time getting a radio affiliate as it was. Remember the year when the affiliate was the student station at Cal, KALX? (500 watts but on a hill next to the Lawrence Hall of Science)

Since I’m not familiar with the overall area, would there be any real interest for A’s broadcasts in the Bay Area once they play in Sacramento?

It's not about interest, but money. If they can make money from either the team or a sponsor to keep the broadcasts on the air, they will do it regardless of the ratings. Consider the paltry ratings Bloomberg gets. But they pay to be on 960. That's all that matters. Same thing with KGO and sports betting.
