BLOOMBERG FM - THE NEW YORK STOCK EXPERIENCE?

This morning's T-R-I says

"...is Bloomberg radio about to be heard more prominently in New York City, on an FM? That’s in addition to Bloomberg LP-owned flagship WBBR (1130)."

...anybody wanna speculate? Of course you do!

Of course we'll speculate! What other FM (other than our favorite whipping boy of the board) is struggling so badly AND would be up for sale? Plus Bloomberg would be able to pay for almost any NYC FM easily, I would think, even in these tough days. Is there another FM out there we're not thinking of that could be available? I don't think CBS would ever put 92.3 FM WXRK "K-Rock" on the block - not on the earlier "for sale" lists of CBS properties up for sale - largest market, too valuable & could be turned around with the right programming. Would The New York Times part with WQXR; or partner with Bloomberg, perhaps? Any of the Spanish Broadcasting System stations (93.1 FM WPAT or 97.9 FM WSKQ) available: not likely. Or Univision's stations (105.9 FM WCAA or 92.7 FM WQBU)? Or even cash-strapped Mega Media's "Pulse 87" (87.75 FM WNYZ) - sorry, Tony S.! I hope not, for your sake as well as the dance music community. Or is Bloomberg looking for placement on some NYC FM station's HD-2 or HD-3 signal (a la the placement of the CBS AM stations "simulcasts" on their own HD-3 signals)? Can you say "LMA"/"LSA"? All signs point to 101.9 FM WRXP - it's just too easy & convenient with their failed format & Emmis making cuts companywide. Also, Emmis having a property in L.A. (93.9 FM KMVN-Rhythmic AC) that's tanking just as badly adds to the intrigue. And just when you think you've got it all figured out...? In the spirit of Election Week, "vote" for your favorite scenario.

;D WRXP has been on the blocks for months now. With financing being tough for more small companies and the value of that station being much less than when it was Jazz, rumors circulating are that 101.9 WBBR-FM is something thats at the barganning table. Since Emmis has a good amount of debt it needs to settle prior to the end of the calendar year, look for more developments on this next week. What's WRXP worth if they bill only 10 million a year?

I would think this may happen and it will have a domino effect. Bloomberg wil stay as an FM and sell their am to espn radio to move WEPN for a better signal and maybe sell 1050 freq. to Clear Channel.

Now THERE'S a new wrinkle...I can hear it now: "Seacrest 1050."

Would Clear Channel even be able to buy another station in the market? Weren't they forced to divest themselves of WALK since it was considered part of the NYC market? Also, even if they could, would they want to buy another station, particularly an AM station?

Rumors on the internets (Scott Fybush's Northeast Radio Watch) speculate that 96.7 may become the FM home of Bloomberg 1130.

That's not completely implausible, as the signal would reach wealthy communities in Westchester and the surrounding suburbs, as well as parts of Manhattan, Queens, LI, etc., but if they went with this, I'd have to think they would keep the AM as well, for the many regions that still would not receive a signal on 96.7.

If anything, I think the AM frequency CC should be gunning for, if at all, would be 710.

What if Family Radio 94.7 swapped 1130 with Bloomberg?!?!? That sounds like a win/win for both companies?!?!
