Bloomington Radio question

Actually I have 2 questions.

The morning show on Spirit 95...are they local or network? And for the mid-day show too.

It appears that the morning show and the midday show with Sharon Porter Phillips are indeed local.

I couldn't tell you about the rest of the schedule, however.

Here's my question about Spirit 95, though. I noticed they recently signed on a sister station at 88.9. They are owned by Mid-America radio group, a commerical radio company. So, how can they operate both a commercial and non-commerical radio station. Isn't that against FCC regulations?

Actually, the FCC lists ownership of WMYJ as Spirit Educational Radio, Inc...Same PO Box, etc. as Mid America. So apparently it is a separate company, obviously "not for profit." WVNI (Spirit 95) is licensed to Brown County Broadcasters, same deal as above as far as mailing address. I wonder how many companies they are actually running?

The ones they are running I feel are running over licensed power and over modulating in some cases. I would love the FCC to check the stations at 102.3 and 97.7 for starters.

I was checking the dial a week or so ago and I noticed that Spirit 95 was simulcasting on a position near 107.7. Does 88.9 have any local programming from the Bloomington/Nashville studios?
