Maybe Blu is the name of the automation system. Years ago an engineer (Ted Ronneburger, I think?) told me about a station he worked for where the overnight guy was named Ken Wood. Mr. Wood was actually a Kenwood dual cassette deck placed in loop mode to run through the night.

I hope Blu is a real person, I was doing overnights at Kicks when my son was born nearly 23 years ago.

Yes BLU is a real person and a good guy. I have know him since he was Moby's intern at Kicks years ago where he got the nickname "Blue". He came to work with Blue Hair one morning, but he's no Blue Hair :D I'm glad he's got the gig,no one is more deserving.

I worked with a failing morning show a few years back and almost convinced the program director to replace him with the a Apple Computer's Text-To-Speech feature doing voice tracking. I thought "Mac in the Morning" would be a hit. Tragically, it never got off the ground.
