Blue Angels Not Returning to Seafair This Year

As of this morning, there has been a big announcement that the Blue Angels will not be at Seafair 2013 this year due to the sequester budget cuts. There will be a different aerial show, just not the Angels. First it was the fireworks being cancelled. Now this?!? KIRO will lose a lot of Seafair viewers this year, as well as people at the hydros, IMO.

I adobe the Blues. I adore Seafair. Yet, I'm glad about this.

Would MUCH prefer to see something that's a crowd-pleaser get cut as a "we have to make it up SOMEWHERE" statement, rather than doing stupid stuff like closing Renton Air Tower (one of the busiest training airports in the metro area). Also prefer the crowd-pleaser cuts to lifeline-related services and support. It probably won't make a difference...but at least when people see "oh there really ARE some cuts" maybe one day they will get off their La-Z-Boy and start to give a care about their world once again.
 
The Sequester has not affected anything. Everybody knows it.
