Ok, this is the final straw, for me at least, I can safely say now that Blueberry Broadcasting was a bad move for Bangor.
Is Bangor really that desolate where we have to get rid of stations to simulcast with others?
A waste of radio space maybe?
I really don't know why people HATE automation. It's all music, usually what we like in radio, and it brings out some deep cuts that we might haven't heard of in a while or at all that we don't usually hear in our favorite format. Too much of automation is a bad thing, like WSYY is, but still, it's like your iPod in a radio (in fact thats what WSYY's motto is with their station

) Voice tracking has gone out of control in the bangor market, but isn't that better than nothing at all? WEEI does come in perfectly at night on the AM usually, why do we need them on the 910 dial, and taking away WABI, the original AM/FM station in Bangor. Blueberry took away alot of history right there with WABI, they've been a staple in the Bangor area since the 20's!
Hopefully it comes back soon with something else. What was wrong with standards? I know there are alot of older citizens who may like that, especially on the AM. Kind of a cheap idea to use George Hale cause he's on WVOM at the same time, decieving but still, now Bangor has 2 AM sports stations, and 2 Talk. There are supposed to be others in the are with CP's coming soon.
Who is next to get the axe in Bangor for blueberry? WLKE? WBFB? Country is the only thing that has stayed the same, unfortunately. I hope the websites will look good once they not "under construction" anymore. Maybe add some unique features to the stations- RDS? Last played? A suggestion maybe because i don't see any Cumulus doing this.
Is Bangor that much of a ghost town where we can't support a rythmic Top-40 station and a modern rock station? And instead of replacing them with another "format" , they become simulcast of other stations we already have!! 101.7- Oldes, 102.1 Oldies. I hope someone will build a Top40 station, with some cool features like B97 was. I'm listening to WFBC right now online, and they are totally different than what WBZN calls "Top 40".
And the future of the new 101.1 in machias doesn't look good at this point? Haha, Top 40 hopefully anyone? Doesn't really need a modern rock, WNSX is nearby, even though their are not similar.
There is room on the dial somewhere for another FM Station, some big radio company from another state should come in a buy off some radio stations and see what they can do.
Please do something, this isn't how radio should be.
Presque Isle radio seems like the only radio thats stable right now, unfortunately.
