"We've Got Blues Here"--WGBH-FM
http://www.regenttheatre.com/events/mai.htm
Mai Cramer was longtime host of Blues After Hours on 'GBH-FM until her passing in 2002. For the past
few years there's been a benefit concert (for Mass. Breast Cancer Coalition) in her memory, and this
year it takes place at the Regent Theatre in Arlington on Sat night 4/26 at 7 pm ($28/$32). Jody Williams, Ronnie Earl, 2120 South Michigan Avenue and others will perform (I plan to go). The emcee is Holly Harris,
former WBOS blues show host who now does a blues show streaming on the Web. (She frequently filled
in for Mai; the two had met on jury duty and found they both loved blues)
Other acts:
— Sugar Ray Norcia
— Toni Lynn Washington
— Greg Piccolo
— David Maxwell
— Emcee: Holly Harris, long time host of "Sunday Night Blues"
Holly talks about Mai Cramer in a clip from my 25th anniversary party (3/06); i have a better version
somewhere from the orig. radio show (this is from a video) but whatever:
