Did you want the above info as far as what they air or knowledge about the company. The company was built up by Tom Castro who overpaid for every market they are in, even when told there was no need to buy certain stations he did it anyway. Example: buying Dynamic in Austin (3 AM/ 1 marginal FM) for 17 million when they weren' worth more than 5 mill. Result, recently the company sold three AM back to the guy for about $5.5 million. The FM wasn't worth $12mill. He also let alot of really good people go. The people he had while he was running the radio group were a bunch of yes men who were retreads. Now that he isn't running the show, the company has a bean counter running things. Which means they will sell what shouldn't have been bought and make cuts where they have to. Sounds typical in our business but in the case of BMP they do it because Castro was a knucklehead when it came to buying stations. His money people have finally figured it out and took his position away. Now you may have actually asked about the market only but this gives you an idea of what corporate culture they have been dealing with. Don't know anyone in the RGV to say what it would be like working in that market. Just know what the whole company is about. By the way in a conversation with a VP at Univision a few years back, I asked him what do you think of BMP and Castro, he said we don't. We beat him in Houston and will beat him again. Know his MO and his way of doing business. Not a threat.

Remember that Jeff Hinson, former CFO of HBC, is now running BMP... and Jeff is competent and capable!

David you are correct that is why they will be making a great deal of changes to fix what Castro has done. Also its a case of a bean counter running a company.
