BMP should do something about KHHL already!

Why hasn't BMP turned off KHHL? KHHL 103.1 Karnes City is dead air maybe 65% to 70% of the time, with distorted, clippy ESPN Deportes audio when it is broadcasting! You'd think an owner like BMP would actually bother to make sure things were working properly. Guess not... Wonder when they'll get fined if that even happens?
Maybe they're having trouble getting a feed to the station? They could always stick a netbook or an unused computer at the transmitter site and play music to at least have something on all the time, but that might not be legal either.
I'm sure KHHL interferes with other stations at certain times, like nights, and it seems pointless to just broadcast dead air to interfere with them. It probably would do BMP a lot of good if KHHL was either sold, or if the owners would put a little more effert into the thing.

I found this for "BMP Radio" on Wikipedia:

"...On July 17, 2009, Radio-Info.com announced that BMP would be seized by its banks after failing to make debt payments for two years.[1] Ten days later, it was confirmed that Goldman Sachs Group, Vestar Capital Partners, and D.B. Zwirn & Co. seized the business and the assets are expected to be liquidated.[2] It was reported that President Jeff Hinson is expected to step down by July 31.[2] This occurred as expected, and station owner and station broker Larry Patrick was named trustee and engaged to dispose of the stations and return any monies to the lenders..."

Their website hasn't been updated since 2009, and, ironically, does not list KHHL among their stations.

I also found this under the Wikipedia entry for KTSA:

"...On July 27, 2009, Border Media Partners was taken over by its lenders in an "amicable manner," according to an FCC filing (radioink.com). Border Media had not made a debt payment in two years (San Antonio Express-News)..."

It would appear that BMP Radio is no longer in business and the lenders are now in charge. Good luck getting them to fix what's broken.

Their last ownership report was filed in December, and it does indeed list Larry Patrick for all of BMP's former stations. Doubt any fines will be issued as there is no entity to issue a fine to.
 
If they would just shut off the station I could pick up 103.1 up in Austin a lot better, I posted this a while back in the San antonio Austin boards. Maybe BMP only has pre paid wireless internet for the station and they run out of bandwidth every week they turn it on. :-\
