The R.A.B. reports that iBiquity has struck a deal with BMW to be the first auto maker to offer factory installed HD radios. It will be an option.

"Radio Industry Conference (RAB 2007) Observations"

"Most everyone I spoke with about HD Radio at RAB 2007 admitted privately that it was the wrong road. That's a problem because the radio industry chief executives obviously disagree. If radio keeps putting its faith behind HD, bludgeoning the public with ads that sell a "discover it" approach, five years from now we'll all be asking why?"

"MediaWeek: It's the Talent, Stupid"

"Radio has been negotiating—with little success—with automobile manufacturers to get HD radios installed in new cars. Without HD radio as a standard option in cars, it seems unlikely that these radios will reach critical mass anytime soon."

This is old news - HD Radio is only going to be a $500 option, so that is why, the Cartel could only get HD Radio into expensive BMWs. The general public is not going to pay $500 for HD Radio - the only way, for HD Radio to succeed in-dash, is to become standard on all automobiles, and that will never happen. The US automakers have already expressed that they are not interested in HD Radio.

It's ridiculously easy to find someone who doesn't believe in most anything...someone who doesn't believe in technology, progress, or even science itself.

At the Republican debate last week, three candidates raised their hands when asked "who doesn't believe in evolution". Yep, I'm sure they searched from one edge of the earth to the other to find people who agreed with them ;)

My dad (a physics, math, and chemistry teacher) used to say "There's no theory too outragous, nothing too loosely grounded in science or reality that some fool won't believe it!"

A wise man, my pop!

Well, my pop was a proctologist that had a many wise stories to tell ! :D

Don't insult my late father, Pocket. He was not only brilliant, but the best person I've ever known. Insult me all you like, but insulting him is not a wise course of action.
