Board Consolidations

We have consolidated a number of boards tonight to make the site much more navigable and user friendly. The site's board structure has become bloated over the years and these consolidations are being done in order to eliminate overlap and forums that are not used often.

The boards we have merged into other boards are as follows.
  • Business of Radio and FCC News & Policy into National Radio (which has been renamed General Radio Topics)
  • Engineering Tech Tips into Engineering
  • Albany/Hudson Valley, Binghamton and Syracuse/Utica into New York State
  • Altoona/State College, Central Pennsylania, Lehigh Valley/Reading, and Northeast Pennsylvania into Pennsylvania
  • Central California into California
  • Denver into Colorado
  • Eastern North Carolina into North Carolina
  • Eastern Tennessee into Tennessee
  • North Florida and Southwest Florida into Florida
  • St. Louis into Missouri
We have also merged the following regional boards into larger regions
  • Alaska, Hawaii and the Pacific Territories
  • Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota
  • Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska
  • Montana and Wyoming
  • Washington, Oregon and Idaho
  • Washington DC, Maryland and Delaware
The radio industry has changed immensely since the board structure was first implemented in the early 2000s and as each operator put their own stamp on the site this led to many boards losing their original intent and being duplicated leaving us with multiple boards with the same purpose. We're not done yet with the changes and there will even be some new additions added in the near future.

Additionally we will also be closing the In Memorium board in the near future. We believe obituaries are best placed in the regional boards (or national for some) where the subject was best known. There are also many posts on that board that stretch the definition of being related to broadcasting.
