Board predictions apparently came true

Judging by the lack of activity since "Bucky" was discharged from the board, I'd say we've suffered some damage here. I'm seeing only a small handful of posters on here now. Others probably got fed up with the childishness and bailed out. I sat out myself for a while until things blew over. Someone posted earlier that breaching trust on here by revealing names and job titles of posters would run people off, and I guess maybe it came true. After hanging out here for the better part of 5 years, I find myself coming here less and less every week now. Very sad. It used to be EDUCATIONAL first, and fun second, and people's crap and rants took a back seat. Hopefully things will blow over once and for all, and we can get back to discussing RADIO once again.

***OOPS*** Had to use the Edit button, just noticed that Mr. Nizzle (or someone with similar grammatical shortcomings and playa-lovin language) just reappeared under a new name. Good gravy, I'll just delete this page from my Favorites and be done with it all. You guys have fun.
Edited by AliceTheCook on 09/07/05 08:04 AM.

Alice is right. He summed it up,now do we continue to have someone bitter dominate the board,or do we discuss the industry? We all have opinions, but if you disagree,so be it just don't take it personally and try to "out" the other.

Now Lets Talk About Radio

Where are all the Sunny fans flocking to? How is the new 97.1 sounding? Any interesting things going on at the stations?

All 12 of them :)

I guess I'm one of those 12. I listened to Sunny (not consistently - usually dial-flipped between it and Jack), and especially enjoyed their mix of music. I also liked the fact they didn't have a lot of DJ chatter (although there were as many promos for that fact that it made up for it). Where I live, I can't get KEOM, and the one time I sampled it driving through Dallas I was bombarded with '70s heavy metal...not my stuff.

My only choices now (aside from Jack) are KVIL (not my demographic), KTYS (I can't stand the DJs, and their playlist is awfully small), KSCS (same playlist problem), KPLX (same DJ problem), or CDs. Looks like CDs are the clear winner.

What's wrong with having a soft AC station in a market that doesn't sound like KVIL? For that matter, what's wrong with having an FM version of KAAM? Some of us actually like having a little variety in our music choices. I listen to everything from Sinatra and 101 Strings to Kansas and Blue Oyster Cult (minus hip-hop or rap). I want more choices!
______________

I agree. A KAAM FM would be nice, but it won't happen.

Re: Now Lets Talk About Radio

Since it’s not clear to me exactly when you tuned in, I cannot determine how best to respond to your statement. However, for a number of years the station was using a very elementary music scheduling software program. It offered very “basic” testing and no editing option after a schedule had been generated. Suffice it to say, schedules created with the program could have resulted in a few sets containing several classic rock songs in a row. Thankfully, a better scheduler is now in use.

Looking over the active library, 20% of it consists of Classic Rock hits. The remaining 80% is Light AC, Mainstream AC and Super Gold hits. The overall format has taken on a softer edge as of late, so you might try listening again next time you’re in the area.
