"Bob and Tom".....buh-bye......

So lets get this straight. Hall is going to replace "Bob and Tom" with "Jim and Louie" Ummmm, lets replace two boring guys in their 50's from the mid-west, with two boring guys in their 50's who are from the area. Well, at least their local....One question. If they're on the air, who is going to watch the sandwich shop? And, last I checked, it's 2007, not 1987. I don't get it, there is local talent out there. No offense to Mr. Condom and Mr. Man-hole, but come on....

hahahaha! Dr. Pepper, I must say, you are not only sweet to the taste buds, but you are most refreshing as well!! My big girlfriend at cc and I could not agree with you more! We could use a few cases of you up here on the farm in Sharon! wink-wink! Go get em you can of wonderful goodness!!!!

Ms. Mary ;)

Does anyone think that the ratings for mornings at Wizard can go much lower? The main competition, Corm and the Coach, aren't exactly huge in the numbers either. I say give them a shot and see what happens. They do fit the demo and they are capable of more outrageous on the street stuff which never happens on Champ. They don't have anywhere to go but up with the present ratings.

I don't recall, but what were thier ratings when they were on 1390 AM ?

In the early days, when they had no competition in the market, they did pretty well, but at the end of their careers they where just plain bad.
I do not believe they will show up on wizn. Manno and DD at Hall have a bad relationship. I've been told they will pop up somewhere else

Maybe they can do the morning show live at the Radio Deli on Pearl St...

they actually had pretty good numbers on 1390 when they went to afternoons for a while...when squier owned it. does he still own it?

1390 is owned by Northeat Broadcasting (Steve Silberberg)

If I recall correctly - Greg and Ernie on WVMT had bigger numbers than Jim and Louie. From what I'm hearing, though, don't expect them to go to WIZN until a contract is signed. WIZN may only be *one* of the places they're in talks with.

Just to set the record straight… DD and me buried the hatchet many years ago… at least ten. I wish him and the whole gang at Hall Communications the best of luck. Many dear friends still work there.

Louie

;D

Dr Pepper

Thanks for asking... Well I am selling the Deli and I will soon be looking for something to do… But, the truth is even though the siren song of radio beckons. I would like to take some time to think about it. My last gig (constructive criticism not withstanding) was probably the most fun I ever had… If I was to jump back in... it would have to be the right deal in the right environment. I am doing some freelance stuff right now and not really in a big hurry.

Ever the dreamer I am even working on a TV pilot. Some earlier versions of it are here at:

Jim and I still collaborate on various projects and I see him all the time. He’s doing a great job at the statehouse by the way. Otherwise I enjoy the forum and am happy to se so many people still care about radio – which I will always love.

Manno

That is false.

This post id directed to Mr. realvoice:

With all due respect sir, your information on Charlie and Ernie (who I have a great deal of respect for) VS Manno and Condon is incorrect. (It may be because they are still on and we are currently not) FYI the ratings went back and forth and we were the winners most of the time. (not that it really mattered) In fact in our last AM drive book we beat them soundly.

Jim and I had a pretty daring show and a loyal following. We broke new ground that others leisurely get to creep across… thanks to us. And it wasn’t easy - I take solace in the fact that we had the silent support and respect of many of our radio brethren but deserve way more respect than we are getting now. But who cares we had fun.

We never monitored the competition, read the trades, paid attention at staff meetings or played the ratings game … We just did our own thing – went our own way …all of our efforts involved laughing it up with each other and connecting with the listeners.

Jim Condon, Joy Hopkins, Kevin Ohl, and Andy Potter and I are all proud of our little raw show we put on day in and day out. And I can say objectively if our show were on now, we’d be a force to be reckoned with.

And who knows… It might be on again… soon ...or perhaps not.

Nonetheless I just wanted to set the record straight… (Not that we should care) …but whatever we squeezed out of our careers did not come easily - we worked hard – with little or no resources and occasionally in a hostel work environment- The least we deserve is to be discussed factually.

Louie - proud member of the former Manno and Condon Show.

Louie,

Just wanted to toss my two cents in that I hope you and Jim are back on IZN. You had a great show and it's a show that needs to be back on, ESPECIALLY on WIZN because Bob and Tom... just haven't cut it.

Thank you friend. :D

regarding impending changes on IZN: zzzzz...zzzz..zzzzz....zzzz.....zzzzzzzzzz.....cue up "the music of your life...."

Louie, you are a funny guy....and Jim is too, provided he doesn't hit the sauce....but that was then.......
