Bob and Tom to EBN?

"Taylor on Radio-Info", in today's newsletter" credits the Speculation Factory for this idea....The Fox and Radio 94.1 will be the stations that CC will spin in Cincy, setting up the possibility of Bob and Tom being moved from the Fox to EBN to replace the "expensive" Dawn Patrol. Remember CC= Cost Cutting.

I just don't see why they would be willing to give up 700 WLW. I would not be surprised to see B&T go to EBN. Only thing is, B&T fit better on a classic rock station not a harder-edged WEBN. Of course, programming is never an issue with CC as someone explained above.

Bob and Tom to EBN would be a good move. The thing that makes me curious is that Bonneville has been wanting a bite at WLW for quite sometime. They know the format, they would keep it a secure #1 station and Bonneville actually is the only company in Cincinnati that cares for their employees. Plus they have the money in hand for WLW. Other people would have to go to the investor bank and hope they can get a loan.

Clear Channel may not want to sell WLW because it looks pretty, but it would be their smartest move so they can just get rid of the thing.

As an 'EBN listener; I hope this doesn't happen.

The best thing that could happen to WLW would be for it to leave Clear Channel.

Plus they have the money in hand...

Especially now that they aren't required to contribute to a Romney campaign.

As their first promo trinket, they can have "The Big One 700 WLW" gold plates pressed.

Then the second batch can say something slightly different.

Clear Channel was given two offers in Cincinnati. They are going to not just go for the cheapest sale, they need to make money to help get them out of debt.

WLW and KISS (Bonneville wants) and wants badly! They would probably be willing to give an arm and a leg for those signals.

WOFX and WNNF are good stations but no one is jumping up and down wanting to pay the money they want for those stations.

Clear Channel wants to go private and without any problems. At the same time, they also want to make some good money. Bonneville has the money, doesnt have to go to a bank and is willing to invest. Bonneville is also a secure operator and the fact that they WANT the station is a much better selling point then...well, they were for sale!

Especially now that they aren't required to contribute to a Romney campaign.

THAT is good stuff!

Wow you guys are on to something. Why don't you take all that investigative reporting and inside information you have and take it to the IRS. I'm sure they would appreciate the factual info you can provide on the DIRECT link between the Mormon church and the Mitt Romney campaign.

While you're at it don't forget evidence on the black churches and media and the Obama campaign you have gathered too. This do for them what it did to JFK and the Vatican.

You're serioulsy going to attempt to argue Mormon church support of the first national candidate for President who's Mormon??? On a radio board no less???

wow...

I, for one, appreciated the Bonneville/Romney reference for what it was...humor, with a large dose of "yeah, probably so."

Lets see. Clear Channel can make upwards to $70 MILLION on the sale of WLW and KISS to someone who wants it and has the cash in hand to give.

Or Clear Channel could make $30 MILLION on the sale of WOFX and WNNF by advertising they are for sale and waiting for a company who has that kind of cash ready...and waiting....and still waiting.

My bet is on Bonneville wanting WLW and KISS. They make more money, they sell it right away and make the DOJ happy.

I am amused at the fact that NO ONE wants Clear Channel Lima. They have made those stations such a mess that everyone is scared to even walk in the door! That my friend is sad!

The Bob and Tom Show.......Just a good way for stations to save money with no regard for their audience.

Sounds like somebody's Sacred Garment is a little too tight in the nether regions.

Fill out a requisition form for a sense of humor and LAUGH a little.

In all truth, my guess is that Bonneville contributed exactly as much as it possibly could to the campaign, and many indiviuals within the company did likewise, but no rules were broken.

Lighten up, Francis.

I hope Bonneville will buy up the former Cincy's CC stations. Since Bonneville is a supporter of progressive talk. See Bonneville's owned 3WT stations that carries Steph Miller Show and Randi Rhodes.

That's all well and good. I like progressive talk, but I seriously doubt that if Bonneville buys WLW they will turn it into anything remotely progressive. There's too much money at stake. As for WKFS, I doubt an FM talker will appear there or anything because it's too popular with the younguns.

well, you could look at the KSL newstalk website, and see what they do...

Bonneville will do an amazing job with WLW if they end up buying it. Probably much better than Clear Channel has ever thought of doing.
