Bob and Tom's "WNDE/piece of c***" comment

Did anyone else hear this yesterday? I believe it was Bob who said it, and JMV was offended by it, so called him out on the air. When Bob came in to explain what happened, JVM calmed down.

B&T had a nurse in studio giving them flu shots. They were talking about defibrillators, and where the one in the studio was, and Bob said it wouldn't matter, they would use the juice from that to power WNDE anyway (a jab on signal strength.) Then he goes on to say "I've been trying to get that piece of c*** off the air for 25 years."

Of course, when Bob came on JMV's show, his explaination as to what he meant was much different. He doesn't like the weak signal of WNDE, especially at night, and wishes they could have the same 50k signal Q95 has. He also wishes that signal was farther away from the station, because his cell phone doesn't work when he is there.

I thought it was funny, even though you could have taken it wrong.

It was Tom, not Bob, who made the comments. (You'd think after 22 years listeners, especially radio people, would know the difference.)

The comments were in jest according to his explaination on JMV's afternoon show. The comments were meant, he said, as an inside joke to the CE, Scott Fenstermaker. The CE was stading in the studio, or an adjancent studio, at
the time of the comment. (By the way CE stands for chief engineer in case
you don't know)

Tom also went on to say, he's picking up WNDE on his toaster, etc!

I thought is was tremendous radio...lemonade out of lemons...what a way
to pump up one show/station with another. He really gave a lot of props
to JMV.

There's not a group of stations in Indy that can (or have been able to) share as much talent across hallways...for this long...and still do well on their own. Of course WNDE comes nowhere near the number of WFBQ, but I understand their billing is better than it should be with it's kind of ratings.
