Centers around WJTO not WJIB but you get the idea

Six watts at night? WVBF-AM 1530 in Middleboro would LOVE to have that much power.

Don't knock it. Surprisingly, those 6 watts do fairly well at night. I was quite surprised myself. I'm in Bridgewater quite often at night and at 10 miles away from the WVBF transmitter site in Middleborough. Sure, you've got 1530 from Cincy in the background at times, but for the most part, 'VBF is totally listenable.

Agreeing with peter here. WVCH's 6 watts at night on on 740 get out to about an 8 mile radius from its Brookhaven, PA transmitter site/studio. Beyond that, Toronto begins to flex its 50 kW muscle.

When I was in my early 20s, I actually e-mailed Bob once asking to work (for free) - volunteering to come up to Cambridge on the weekends to work WJIB. This was around 1998. It was also around that time that I discovered WJTO when on a trip to Portland, Maine.

I loved (and still love) that station. As far as I'm concerned, it's the only music station left on the radio worth listening to up in that area. WJDA is gone. WILD is gone. WXKS 1430 is also gone. :-[

I like the old tunes.
