Bob Bollinger is out as GM in San Diego

Very sad news. Also very sad is that Bob didn't support those that were supporting him. He threw some very talented and loyal folks under the bus in order to save his own skin. Turns out not to have worked very well. Now many wonder if Buddha belly Brad can make the numbers. Hard to imagine when has so much disdain for stations like KGB and it's morning show. If you can't sell that what can you sell? A dying Country station isn't going to make it happen. A third tier Sports station isn't the solution. The inability of Brad to really understand what is happening at Rock 105 will not help him make this cluster's numbers. I would say it all doesn't matter because Brad has the support of San Antonio but recent events and one event in particular that is about to happen suggest that Brad may not have all the backing he believes he has. Get ready to go back to LA back slapping jackazz.

Bob is at his desk today and is working ... and very much employed.

From the Media Hack Kris (who can't spell Bolinger and Bob has been in the market since December 1986) post to "Topic: Bob Bolinger to be out as GM of Clear Channel ????" (that is the correct spelling of Bolinger) made 10/12 at 11:00:58 pm in his Reply to Garrett:

"Regardless, best wishes and keep posting ... just check your facts prior writing ......"

Anyone else enjoy the irony?

Keep on postin' in the free world, Kris! ;)

Stay tuned ....

When does the Jeff & Jer contract end? I hope this means they will be going to a better station. not clear channel. and get back to the way they used to be. when they had good shows. I really do miss the Jeff & Jer show!

LOL, Jeff & Jer call their own shots, neither Clear Channel nor anyone else controls them or their show content. I won't argue that they had good shows once, but that's when they actually gave a damn about their work instead of just phoning in it and being apathetic, greedy and lazy. They have no incentive or I doubt any desire to "get back to the way they use to be".

Dang Ratsing did anyone ever tell you that you are too shy with your opinion? You need to be more vocal about things that you care about LOL! I am not a fan of Jeff and Jerk, but someone must like them they have the ratings?

Long live DSC!

Once again, you use the phrase "phoning it in" instead of describing what you mean.

Sorry, it's a colloquialism and I think the previous post described it accurately. And I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that when you say "you", it is the universal "you", as I've never posted that particular opinion before or used that expression on this forum.

136kgb, I won't deny they have the ratings (always a bit of a mystery to me, but to each his or her own). I just thought it was kind of amusing that the poster I was answering apparently thought CC was stifling J&J's creativity somehow :)

NOW, the burning question...what IS going on with Bob Bolinger? For the record, I agree with most of the posters that he is a great guy and it would be CC's loss. He's one of the few, very few, radio execs around that still has some scruples.

Well Bob won't be out of CC until Brad pulls a "Tracy Johnson" and promises to do both jobs for less money. And Brad just wants to be GM, not GSM and GM. Remember Tracy was a backstabber, but Brad is a salesman, which one do you trust more? Of course that's like asking which is more dangerous a shark or a lawyer? They both prey on live meat!

If Brad is smart he will never offer to do both jobs! That's too much work, and will take away from his golf time!

These days at CC you never know. But I would not call Brad Samuel Superman.....Mighty Mouse is closer!

Harsh, dude, but there's some truth.

Today, they took a long weekend Monday... and tomorrow is Veteran's day! ;D

I've lost count of the days off that either Jeff or Jer have taken, leaving the other to hold the show. I've also lost count of the weeks of vacation they take annually. I'm sick of 15-minute "dirt" segments where Laura talks about the sex habits of the Hollywood Mafia. I was turning the station off during the weeks leading up to the elections because I was sick of hearing Jerry sob about his chickens. And I'm getting really tired of "game shows" where there's not even any audience participation -- it's just the folks in the studio playing!

I would probably switch - but there's not a lot of other family friendly morning shows left out there, and I don't want to hear music in Morning Drive. Like Sting said, when the world is running down, you take the best of what's still around.

Sonny and Susan at KyXy. I know they play music, but the entertainment bits are very good. Kevin Dean is the best traffic reporter on the air. I miss John Q. Lawrence. The man wrote news; he didn't read it.

I agree. Besides I'd rather listen to a 2 minute interview with a B-list celebrity like Jada Pinkett who was on last week than J n J whine about their personal causes i.e. Prop 2. Sonny & Susan get the job done tight, bright and positive; a few laughs, real genuine people. I, too, miss John Q. Lawrence. It seems he was at the front of the line with all the CBS layoffs taking place. Looks like CBS will be giving the Evil Empire a run for the money on the annual CC Black Friday.

Many are wondering why an all staff meeting is planned for this morning. Why are corporate type people in town? Is this a good thing for the staff of CCSD? What is the fate of Bob B and our lad Brad?
