Let's hope it lasts longer than "Joe Buck Live" did on HBO. :-X

When you see "Joe Buck Live" on the listings of HBO you assume it is a
sequel to "Midnight Cowboy" :D

They also need to do a show to up against Sportscenter.
They'd be better off STAYING AWAY from competing against SportsCenter because they there's NO WAY they can compete. Look at FSN as an example. They can barely get their foot in the door with The Final Score (And that program has been around since the early 2000s. Before that, each outlet had their own sports report). That's one of the reasons why CBS Sports Network doesn't have a sportscast

Besides, would you leave ESPNEWS (Which is essentially SportsCenter 24/7 to begin with) to watch a sportscast on NBC Sports Network (Or CBS Sports Network for that matter) if you don't even watch The Final Score on FSN ??

Somehow, me thinks not.....

JMO.....

Cheers & 73 ;D

They had Fox Sports Report before and it was good.
CNNSI was out their competing with ESPNNEWS but it's gone.
Microsoft/Sporting News/Fox Sports have some kind of deal so maybe we see a Sporting News Channel.

First off, great plan by Versus/NBC Sports to put arguably their signature personality on a network they're trying to build up. It would be nice, just for the sake of competition, to have another sports news program that isn't an ESPN property. NBC Sports Talk (which I haven't had the chance to see yet) is probably the closest thing that Versus can develop to pit against the almighty SportsCenter.

As for Fox Sports Net, in my opinion, part of why Fox Sports News/National Sports Report failed was because the way the FSN system is set up as a whole. As opposed to ESPN, which is a single network, Fox Sports Net is a collection of networks which is especially beholden to the broadcast rights of the teams in which they cover regionally. It was always inconsistency as to what time the FSN report would air, but I thought they did a really good job covering the day's events. They should have at least kept the Regional reports, because in many markets, the local FSN was the only place to get local in-depth sports news and scores.

Some Comcast Sports Networks and also Metro Sports still have a Local Sports Show like Sportscenter.
NHL Overtime and Live gives Hockey Highlights and News.

Dan Patrick and Bill Patrick or Bob Costas or Brian Kenny if his MLB Network deal also includes NBC could host the show at 11pm and the 2 who don't could do 6pm.

If reruns of Fox News Channel primetime shows weren't so popular, a revival of the National Sports Report on FNC (think Sports Tonight on CNN) would be welcomed by this FNC-avoidant TV viewer. Heck, with CNN's ratings woes, it might not be so crazy an idea to bring Sports Tonight back as counter-programming against FNC and MSNBC.
