I had the opportunity to work with Bob at WQII in San Juan, a 4-tower DA-1 10 kw directional on 1140 that had fallen into disrepair and was hampered by a rusting 400" TV antenna in the middle of the array. He supervised the mechanical clean up of the system, and then retuned the AM system while filing for new parameters that drastically improved coverage. Several of the points were over the Atlantic, and we did those in a helicopter.
We lost Ron Rackley, his partner, recently. Both are memorable silent keys.
