Bob Frantz show changes on WHK

Bob Frantz is now calling his show "Always Right". I much prefer "The Bob Frantz Authority", which the show has been called until now. The name "Always Right" is up to interpretation as to its meaning. It can be viewed as egotistical and, because of the nature of us human beings, clearly incorrect. Even though he may be using the new name to highlight the fact that he always will be on the right side of the left-right divide, many people will interpret this name as nothing but bluster. I understand that his show has an aggressive tone, but this is not a good change. This new name can hurt his credibility and certainly won't encourage potential listeners, who may not agree with him all the time, to tune in and to consider his viewpoints.

At the point that I turned the show on, he was finishing up mentioning that the show will, or is exploring, going to 3 hours. It currently airs Monday-Friday from 9:05am until 11:00am. If he does get a 3-hour show, will he start at 8am, and thus take over the last hour of "The Hugh Hewitt Show", or go from 9am until noon, thus obliterating the one live hour of "The Mike Gallagher Show". I would think the latter is more probable as Hugh Hewitt has Ohio connections. Of course, something else could happen.

My favorite Bob Franz memory is back when he was with WTAM and the big blackout hit. WTAM was the only station that had emergency power but some poor sports talk guy was on the air and he was clueless as to what to do. Cliff Baechle stayed over with what news they had and they called Bob in. He got there and provided the service people needed during the first hours of that event, a real pro. And a good example of how important radio can be in an emergency. Or used to be.

Salem operates their talk stations to clear their syndicated programming, no matter what. It’s why WHK will flat-out never drop Mike Gallagher, Charlie Kirk or Gorka.

Well, something is going to have to give if Bob Frantz is to have a 3 hour Monday-Friday show. Maybe Mike Gallagher can be aired Monday-Friday in the overnight hours, or one hour could be cut out of Hugh Hewitt's show (I would be surprised). I'd be very ok with Bob going from 3pm-6pm and have Dr. Gorka move to overnights.

Oh definitely, the easiest move is to have Bob run from 9 to noon with Mike Gallagher exiled in overnight. It honestly seems to be more likely than afternoon drive.
