Bob Grant frustrated with only one hour

Sadly, Bob Grant sounds very much out of touch. A few weeks ago I heard him quote Nancy Pelosi's, "We have to pass the bill to find out what's in it," and then asked a guest, "Have you heard that?" ... as though it was breaking news. As monotonous as it is to have Anthony Macri on as a guest week after week, at least he helps carry the show. Bob Grant is a talk radio pioneer and a great broadcaster. I hope he isn't remembered for his current performance.

On last week's show, he attributed Elijah Cummings' Benghazi quote, where he said "people die in life" to Hillary Clinton. I don't think Hillary said that.

Bob was great in his day, but his day has passed. Sell the hour and let folks remember the great Bob Grant!

Others are commenting on Grant having on Atty Macri each week, and discussing the same court case:

"I've listened to Bob Grant off and on for years, starting with the afternoon show on WOR 710. He was a true original, doing political talk radio years before it was in fashion and during the height of the so-called 'Fairness Doctrine'. Grant's show has always been provocative and has spawned a host of imitators: he was the original 'Get off my phone' guy who had zero patience for nitwit lefty callers. In addition to never suffering such fools, he also has good regular callers such as 'Jimmy from Brooklyn', who intimately understands the nature of the threat posed by communists in and out of government.

Recently, however, his show has been cut to a mere 1 hour a week: Sunday afternoons from 1 to 2 pm Eastern. This in and of itself is a disappointment, but what is even more disappointing is the change in content: for the last few weeks, his show has devolved into a TMZ-type tabloid fest! For some reason, Bob has become obsessed with the Jodi Arias case, and has spent the majority of his scant air time talking with his lawyer friend Anthony Macree (sp?) about the minutiae of the case and wringing his hands about the outcome. This is all the while ignoring or glossing over real events in the news such as the Obama scandals: for example, he hasn't even mentioned the passing of Senator Lautenberg and Christie's reaction, which not long ago would have been his main topic for days.

So, it begs the question - Why? He's either trying to do a 'low-information voter' outreach ala Rush Limbaugh, or he's just deliberately trying to scuttle his ratings: I shut him off this past Sunday when him and Macree started discussing Casey Anthony.

Bob - what happened?"
