Bob Hapgood

Long time KNGL-KBBE McPherson morning personality, sales rep, and for a time manager Bob Hapgood died this morning from complications from open heart surgery over the weekend.

Hapgood is better known to a lot of of folks as the drummer and founding member of King Midas and the Muflers, a regional band that began in the mid 60's and continues to this day (he was one of three members of the original band who are still involved).

He'll be missed by a lot of people. As of this time, funeral arrangements are still pending.

Bob Hapgood's funeral will be Saturday (5/5) at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson. Visitation is Friday from 3-8 PM at Glidden-Edgier Funeral Home, with the family present from 6-8. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the church or to the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in care of the funeral home (222 W. Euclid, McPherson KS 67460)

I knew Bob from the Kansas Information and Ag network days. He was a great guy. My condolences to friends, family, and King Midas members.
