Bob Jones of WNEW(AM) and WQEW

Host of Milkman's Matinee on 'NEW and later the morning host on WQEW. I really enjoyed his on-air work. Still around? Doing radio?

Bill Dulmage's schedule log shows a Bob Jones at Milkman's Matinee as early as 1954. Were there two?

A great improvement over Neil Meyers for mornings at WQEW.

I always enjoyed listening to Bob Jones on both WNEW and WQEW. Interesting notes. First, Bob Jones wasn't doing 'The Milkman's Matinee' on WNEW in 1954. I suspect he may have been too young to have working papers in New York. Second aside. . .I believe Bob Jones spent some time at WHN 1050, New York before making the move to WNEW.

I once called him at WNEW, kind of on a lark, about 20 years ago when I was working at the old WGLI on Long Island. He was gracious enough to spend time talking with me and had kind words to say about a severly limited Long Island radio station. Truly a gentleman.
