Bob Jordan, ex-KING-TV, returns as KIRO N.D.

He was the one who fired Jeff Renner, only to bring him back, shoved out a couple of long time reporters, and brought us Jim Forman, right?

I'd love to see what he can do at KIRO, which always seems to be a step behind. I mean, in the last ten years they've gone through Susan Hutchinson, Kristy Lee, Margo Myers before settling, for now, on Angela Russell alongside Raible.

They don't do sports on weekdays, and are without a male co-anchor to sit alongside Julie Francavilla in the morning. They have a phenomenal weatherman freelancing for them (Todd Johnson) and a couple of so-so forecasters in the main slot (the cold as ice Rebecca Stevenson and the over excited Sam Argier).

This could get interesting.

A quick check of the seattletimes archives shows he also shoved out the great Don Porter, and let David Kerley (who's climbed to ABC News) go.

But he also brought Dennis Bounds and Julie Francavilla into the market, and they're still going strong.

One thing that keeps local TV news on top is that visual familiarity with the talking heads. KIRO hasnt had a great deal of that in the anchor spots for years. Change after change after change. That clearly exposes a senior management problem, so this latest move might hit the brakes on that issue..

But neither has KOMO lately either! It will be interesting to see what Bob Jordan will do.
