Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40 will debut on New Years Weekend.

Predictions? My guess is many current ACC affiliates will flip to Bob's new show.

But don't many of those same affiliates already air Big John Howell's Country countdown? ... I don't mean John Howell....I mean CMT, I think. (I'm confused now :( )

Our PD at our country station says they will probably
consider the new countdown with Kingsley.

Ours are going the other way. Comparing Kingsley to Blair Garners,Lon Heltons and the Ben and Brians, he pales in how he participates in station level to events that are important to you other than cutting liners. Sorry but true, Kix knows evryone and never forgot radio. He will make the show different, and to us, it needed updating anyway.

Reminds me of when Casey Kasem left American Top 40
to start his own Casey's Countdown show. AT40 was
never the same again!

And the situation is virtually identical! ABC Radio did not renew the contract.

And if you remember, almost 10 years later, Casey came back and revived AT40 in March of 1998.
