Bob Miller Suzy Garcia fired At WCZX

Having said that about Fox Management, I still would find it hard to believe that they could drop the ball on a talent like her. Having spent a day listening to that station, it's no secret that they are needy for solid air talent. Maybe her debut there is still pending?

Afternoons on 977 seem pre-recorded for the most part. Funny WALL has almost as much live programming as 977. Go figure.

I read online yesterday that Suzy Garcia was showing up for work at I 95. I was able to get the station in Long Island and all the way back up to Poughkeepsie. Impressive! They have a super strong signal for a class B FM. Suzy sounded like a great fit for the station both smooth, and personable. When leaving for work this morning the station was still on in the car and I got to hear Ethan and Lou for the first time. You can't help but notice that I 95 in Danbury does it better than WPDH in the morning. It's a blend of the right music, the right amount of talk, and good subject matter. Thumbs up to Ethan and Lou.

Without going into details, the deal Suzie had with Sunrise & WGNY fell apart at the last minute.
BTW, when is she on I95?

Thats good news she is working part-time weekends. It means she has a full-time job. You would never work at a radio station part-time collecting unemployment. You would lose more unemployment money for a lousy minimum wage gig.

Thats doesn't good. By claiming a 4 hours shift (say $10 an hour-does anyone pay that?!!?) against your unemployment, you gain less than $40 by working, but lose more than that against your unemployment benefit.

Nope! Cumulus pays their part-timers the minimum wage $7.25. However, Suzie has a DJ business of her own for parties etc, so perhaps she wasn't on unemployment.

I didn't listen to the show since Tuesday when I was home with my mom, but no, Bob Miller is not going to WGNY to co-host with Van Ritshie. I hope Bob Miller will find someplace else.

I thought Bob was a guest on Van Ritshie's show. I thought he was doing fill-ins for either Van or Buffalo Bob or Joe Manglass.

Yes, Bob was with Van last Tuesday May 31. It was good to hear him again. He came on around 7AM and left around 9. I couldn't listen the whole time, but they chatted some between songs, about what has happened recently. Van mentioned Bob being let go from "company X ". Bob said no hard feelings, that is just radio. However, he added it would have been nice if they gave him and Suzie some advanced warning, so they could say goodbye to their long time listeners. He said, "What did they think we would do bad mouth the place? I mean really, we would not do that."
I did not hear anything about Bob coming back on the air, regularly, but he said a while ago that he did not want another full time show, but he would consider a part-time gig.

they should put miller in either van's or Buffalo bob's place..Van's ego remains bigger than NY state, and please...singing with the song at the end...this aint wkip in 1978 babe...and for some reason Buffalo Bob Feels the needs to say something silly about every song he plays, and I guess nobody ever told him....inside jokes are a no-no on the air. the station needs better imaging after spending all the $$$$ to get it up and running, Bob O is the goods.....

oldies4ever ;D

Love him or not, Van's a good fit for mornings at GNY. The bosses need to loosen the reigns and let Van be Van. This isn't rocket science. If they want to succeed they should sound like the old Oldies 97.7 format which had numbers the stations today would kill for. They need to let the jocks hit the post and have fun. Too many songs and drops go by without hearing the jocks on "Fox Oldies" - which is a dumb name by the way.

The station's imaging and presentation format need work. I can't listen to Buffalo Bob Corsino. It's just bad radio. Bob Miller would kill in that afternoon drive shift. They're crazy not to offer Bob the gig and have him fill in for Van when he's off.
