Bob N Tom

Bob & Tom are not Lake material. Not gonna happen there. It's simply not that kind of station... it's different at the Lake.

Sorry, but I don't know who 'Bob n Tom' nor 'Carol and Alice' are, but I was always intriqued by the Lake's on air slug line ...

'It's different at the Lake'.

It is indeed and perhaps it's just my advancing age, but that constant running water sfx always mades me want to pee.

You can check out Bob & Tom here. These guys aren't pikers. They put on a show. Their home base is WFBQ, Indianapolis, where they own the market and they're on in St. Louis, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Charlotte. Those aren't small markets, but they're not Rochester, New York either. Bob & Tom are as edgy as Opie & Anthony but funnier and a lot cleaner (not hard to imagine.) Entercom has a book on these guys, so you just don't know.

It seems unlikely that Entercom would import Bob & Tom to fill Wease's shoes. Say what you will about Wease, those are big shoes to fill. As noted, syndication has bombed in Rochester. But that was then and this is now... so who knows.

The saving grace is Bob & Tom are a lot better than Rover, Grover, Stewie, Sparky, Spanky or whatever the hell that guy's name was. That was amateur hour, almost embarrassing to listen to.

"Bob and Tom better than Rover..." how's that for damning with faint praise.

Ironic how that post was not heeded by WMMS. They hired Rover and got rid of Bob and Tom.

Wow, you un-earthed a specimen from the archives! You boys from the Cleveland board are always welcome to take a break from the bomb-throwin' and mud-slingin' that goes on there to visit and import ideas from us mud-slingers at this end of Lake Erie. Good to have you stop by. Y'all come back now, y'hear.

Live and Local is a distinct advantage. Syndication success is rare, and taking the time and budget to let it grow is unheard of these days.
