Bob Prather buys 3 Nexstar-MG stations in Indiana

With backing from an Atlanta private equity firm, former Gray exec Bob Prather agrees to pay $115 million for five small-market network affils: Nexstar's WFFT Ft. Wayne, Ind. (Fox, DMA 111) and KQTV St. Joseph, Mo. (ABC, DMA 201), and Media General's KIMT Rochester, Minn.; (CBS, DMA 153), WTHI Terre Haute, Ind. (CBS, DMA 155); and WLFI Lafayette, Ind. (CBS, DMA 187).

So now the question looms:
How many WFFT staffers are headed for the door, and will any stay in the Fort?? I just hope the new owners add to the engineering and operations side of the station. Always had the feel of a small market station in a nearly top 100 market. (well, WISE had been just as bad until Granite originally took over.) A new top mounted antenna, better air chain for playback, and better news ops would be nice.
