Bob Purkey

For you Pirate, Red and Cardinal fans out there Bob Purkey has died. After his release from the Pirates in August of 1966 he stayed in Pittsburgh where he ran a successful insurance company and also did weekend sports for KDKA in I believe 1967 and 1968. RIP Bob.

I just saw this topic. Sorry. Bob was a super guy with nice memories of his baseball-playing days including pitching in the 1961 World Series with the Reds. His wife passed away about a month before he did. RIP.
