Bob Rivers show changes

Heard that too. I hope they convince Maura G. to come back full time. She was filling in again a week or so ago and it was so evident the chemistry she has with the rest of that team. Kaci was not bad but she never lived up to Maura. (Sorry Kaci.)

What were the limitations of Kaci? Does anyone know if she was in fact live?

If not-you are comparing apples and rib roast. Anything shy of live/in the studio/and given the chemistry a chance to happen is not equal.

I agree, and as a big fan of the show, Kaci will be missed, but I don't want to hear another "father-daughter" thing with Bob, to be honest. The girls who all fill in are good. Bob talks about how Maura hates him, tho, but it's clear he likes Linda and the new one, Jessica, from last week. Can't wait to hear the amateurs - 'hope it's funny like the American Idol auditions. I hope Kaci gets a tv job like she said yesterday.

Maura was good, she has good chemistry with the guys but bores me, Kaci too. I would like to hear Linda Thomas on with that show. She has a sexy voice and her personality doesn't get enough of chance on the spot overloaded KIRO.

Bob has a lot of talented people to choose from, but I agree with you on Linda Thomas: great voice, quick sense of humor, good chemistry with that team, and she reflects the maturity of the audience. KIRO should have given her a prime time spot years ago. Their loss.

I hope they pick that girl Jennifer. She cracked me up last week.

Did you actually hear that Linda Thomas was up for the gig? That would be totally awesome! She is beyond talented (in my opinion) and has been hugely successful....How cool! I hope that happens!!!!

Bob called Linda live one morning and she is going to audition. No question she's got the edge as a news person and with her blogging and web skills. She's also damn funny and hot. Married too, I know her husband. Good luck Linda!

I think the show should go with the mood of the country, and go for Change! Get the new girl in there! Jennifer sounds great on KOMO, she's multi-talented, and she's funny too. Give her a shot!

You ARE kidding, right?

Jennifer's newsreading is on the mechanical side and the little crosstalk she does with traffic and sports sounds forced and stiff. She belongs back on a music station - not anchoring news.

The obvious choice to replace Kaci? Marina Rockinger. The question is whether or not she'd leave KOMO.

Why the hell is ANYBODY talking about hiring anybody at CBS Seattle?

So let me get this straight: Can't afford Slaton, but CAN afford another news voice for Bob Rivers?

???

First of all, IIRC it's Bob Rivers, not CBS who pays the salary of his staff. Secondly, a news person's salary is a LOT lower than what Slaton was making so it's a lot more "affordable".

In addition to the "Bob Rivers is a vendor" issue, it's also a swap for existing salary...not adding someone, which would definitely be a hard pill for all to swallow in the circumstances.

At least Seattle will save all those KBKS salaries now too!

It's too bad to hear about all the layoffs at CBS - but come on, don't tell me it was unexpected. The writing ahs been on the wall for months now. And excuse me, SeattleRadioPro, are you listening to yourself? Jennifer is the obvious choice to replace Kaci. The Rivers gig is more personality than news, and Jennifer excels at both.

Bob Rivers staff are not paid by Rivers salary. They are however guaranteed in his contract. Under these conditions, one would think that Rivers might take a look at what's happening around him and give up some of his expenses for the sake of the company he works for. Being #1 doesn't mean a whole lot if the station that's supporting and showcasing you is going down down down. That station may be a top station, but what's it all mean if they can't stay afloat?

Kaci is cute and open and funny and neurotic but it all got a little old (and now she's married and even though that is new I am less interested in stories from that) and more importantly it got too crowded. She should have had at least 1/4th the airtime. Probably more I could lose all the new voices and not miss them.

I don't know if Kaci wants to stay in radio with her interest in live comedy and extensions on that and marriage and maybe family but I'd tune in for a show with her as the central figure and a cast she assembled.

Bob Rivers is too Phil Donahue and pop culture chatty for me.
I don't really see it as a fit or good intro to the day for a rock station, even for the fuzzy term "classic rock" station.
