Bob Rudy fired at WSOX-FM, Oldies 96.1

What's the scoop on Bod Rudy being fired yesterday (1/23/07) by Oldies 96.1? I've learned when his shift was over that he was escorted to his desk and out of the building. What's going on at that place??? :(
 
That's then two brillant moves on the company's part. Not that I care about this station, cause I love my Rose, but keeping it real, the show was working with the people so it doesn't make sense.
 
I always liked Bob and wish him well in his future ambitions.

I notice that you can't find any mention of him on the WSOX website at all. I know he took a pretty long vacation a few weeks ago...maybe he knew it was coming. Either way, Mad Dog and Rudy were a great team -- very hilarious.
 
Nobody has any idea what happened here? My family was talking about this at the dinner table on Wednesday, and they didn't have much info either. All I heard was that another DJ on WSOX, when referencing whatever happened, apologized to the listeners for "doing what needed to be done" while Bob was on the air. I have very little info to go on here. Anyone?
 
Yes, I know exactly what happened on the inside but can't post it on this board. Some new information was passed on to me recently. ;)

Reportedly, the tension had been growing between Bob Rudy and Mad Dog for weeks. It was so bad that they weren't talking much to each other, except on the air for the shows. Station management wanted "to go in another direction" and Mad Dog had the pull and supposedly wanted him out. :( So. Rudy was shown the door. :mad:
 
So it was tension building up that finally cracked? Was there a specific incident that started all of this, or was it just people rubbing each other the wrong way as sometimes happens? Did something in particular happen that Rudy did that got him fired? I'm having dinner with the extended family on Wednesday and hope to be able to shed some light on this for them.
 
The bottom line was basically personality problems between Bob Rudy and Mad Dog. Reportedly, it was Rudy who caused many of the problems over the past year. Precisely what no one is saying. We could be learning more in the weeks and months ahead. Also, it was in-house management that made the decision to fire Rudy, not Cumulus Media. :-\
 
Forgot one thing in the previous writing... The Tuesday edition (2/6/07) of the York Dispatch has an article dealing with Bob Rudy. One can read between the lines. Thanks... ???
 
I thought it was a problem between Rudy and Mad Dog. It's indeed a shame because Mad Dog has two personalities....the charming on-air side and the other one that not too many people get to witness.

I was able to witness Mad Dog's "other" personality last year and I haven't listened to his program since.
 
I too kno what it had to do with and the answer is only 4 letters long.
 
Maybe the issue is much deeper here... Eliminate one Bob to stave off another? I 105 slipped last book and perhaps the loss of Bob Rudy is to mask other programming changes in the works... Not like the market needs another country station... but if any station could give WIOV and WGTY BOTH a run for their money, it sure isn't going to be Bob-FM.
