Bob Rudy...

So....is he back on the air yet? If so, where?
I always have enjoyed listening to Bob and was saddened when he was let go by 'SOX.

It has been 6 months, right?

At last report I heard that Bob Rudy was doing some part-time work in the area, but haven't been able to confirm it. Yes, it has been some time since Rudy was shown the door. It wasn't all Bob's fault at Oldies 96.1. Mad Dog did not want him on the show and wasn't happy with the chemistry. Therefore, Mad Dod got his wish. :-[

The management at all three of those stations in that building along Susquehanna Plaza Drive is not what it once was. Managers are lukewarm and the some of PDs are spin doctors, having forced many other top-caliber announcers to the street or elsewhere. They're an operation is dismay. The stations no longer hold the clout they once enjoyed. :-\

Bob Rudy is back on 98.5 WYCR The Peak. He's doing the afternoon drive with Joe Black from 2-7pm.
They sound like a really good team! It's definitely a laid back atmosphere by which they encourage listeners to call in and share personal stories.

Welcome back to Central PA radio, Mr. Bob Rudy. You deserve all the happiness you'll find at "The Peak".

Maybe the problem isn't management or Mad Dog. . . could it be just the man in question? Call me crazy. But sometimes, where there's smoke, there's fire.

However, best to Bob.

That wasn't the inside information I received.

Sometimes insider information is colored by the insider's viewpoint. We all have opinions and likes and dislikes. And all of that skews how we view certain situations. That could also be true of this one.

Truth is -- it just seems unfair to me that everyone is going on and on about how Bob Rudy got shafted by mean management and his mean co-host. Normally in those situations, there's two sides to a story and the truth is somewhere in the middle.

And no offense -- but Mad Dog doesn't strike me as a vicious diva out to destroy the poor martyr Bob Rudy, who does nothing but good works. Come on. Is that realistic?

can u say premadonna....I worked with Bob sometime ago..and he wasn't everything he's cracked up to be. kinda like johnny carson...wonderful on air...but off...tyrant

Bob Rudy: Good Guy, Tyrant, Martyr or Prima Donna?

Only knowing Bob's on air persona I really couldn't tell you, however, I do think that is a great topic.......

Good Guys, Tyrants, Martyrs and Prima Donna's!

Who is who in this market?

from my experience's with Bob Rudy...I've come to know him off air, as someone who was more concerend about how he can market his name than how could he market the AM show. The Mad Dog and Rudy show was like a hobby for him ..he only put effort into the show when it would best suite him..other than that he was out the door by 10am....and everyone had to work around HIS schedule not the other way around. I recall a time a few years ago that he won some award for excellence in the community from WGAL...in his speech he mentioned that he was humbled by the honor...however that must been for only the first 24 hrs b/c he was back in the office the next day bragging and showing it off to everyone..like any of us gave a crap....as for Mad Dog I never knew him to be difficult to work with at all

This isn't Bob Rudy's first stint at 98.5 The Peak...if I remember correctly he did a brief part-time stint at 98YCR back in the 90's...but then again, my memory is clouded by years of drug and alchol abuse...87-89 is stil a blur (but that' s another story for another time)...

When I first heard about the pairing of Bob and Joe Black, I was taken aback...seems strange to hear an afternoon team in this market, let alone those two....it will be interestng to see how it works out...perhaps a pre-cursor to Bob getting his own slot??

I am glad that Bob got a gig again and before anybody says ANYTHING...I sent him an email congratulating him and he thanked me for it! At least he's NOT going against me in the ratings! ;D

I think everyone can be a diva or a prima donna at some point. It just comes down to one thing -- can they back it up? If you really are as good as you think you are -- then be a little more demanding. But if you can't deliver, well then, shut up and learn.
