Anyone know of a compilation where I can find the single version of this song.

It might be on the FM soundtrack. I seem to recall that some of the songs on there are in their single edits.

That version is largely intact, although there are some cuts. The video wasn't done until 1994, in conjunction with the release of his first greatest hits album. That's why you see Daphne Zuniga and Matt LeBlanc in it.

Why? It's a hack job.
The hatchet job on "Against the Wind" is far worse. The piano solo is cut out. I believe most stations near me played the full version of "Against the Wind."
