Bob Socci named Pats radio voice

going with a local guy will be good i'm surprised by the name though, thought it might be someone more well known.

He's not really local -- he's never worked in the market.

I've heard some Navy football broadcasts over the years. Never had a strong opinion either way, so that tells me he does a solid job.

meaning he lives nearby i should have clarified.

Interesting choice. Remembering past threads I didn't think it would be obvious one but this is a surprise. Socci certainally paid his dues: the Delmarva Shorebirds ?

Nice commute for him down to Foxboro from the Blue Hills. If he's a Ma native I had never heard of him.

His website says he's from central New York.

I do wonder how the provincial New England audience will react to him. Last non-local to come in here and do radio games was Spencer Ross, and he was panned by many.
